11) Info on the Author.

     Joanne Rowling is the author of the Harry Potter books. She is also known as J.K Rowling. Rowling was born on July 31, 1965 in a town called Yate near Bristol. Since she was a young girl, she dreamed of writing. In 1990 when she was stuck on a train one afternoon, she came up with the idea of Harry Potter. It took her six years to complete the first book. Duing this time she moved to Portugal to be a teacher.
     Overtime, J.K Rowling was sued many times for plagiarism. Each of the claims were dismissed. She has become very wealthy as a result from writing the series. As of Summer 2011, she was named the best selling author in the history of literature. Rowling has also been the first author to become a billionare from writing books. She has writtern several other books in the series which have been banned. On June 30, 1997 the first book in the series was released. I believe she does try to teach lessons throughout this story. These are just a few facts I discovered about my books author J.K Rowling.

10) Describe the Ban

     I believe "Harry Potter" was banned for many diferent reasons. Censorship is one reason for it being banned. I believe there are a few reasons where this book could have been censored. Harry Potter is a book filled with magic and unbelievable things. Some parents, and schools may not want their children to read the series.
     Several parts in the book shoud be banned to young readers. Even though thses books are very interesting, I can see where some parents may not allow their children to read them which makes them questioned. Some of the magic and things the characters do throughout the book could be risky for younger children to read. These are a few examples on why I think my book has been banned.

9) Describe your Book.

    So far Harry Potter has been an excellent book. It is full of magical stories that are very interesting to read. In the first book, Harry is just a small boy.  Some of his family does not like him since he is a Potter. They do not want anything to do with him at all but someone has to take care of this young child. These members of his family are the antagonist in the story. You can tell they are hard hearted.
     The protagonist in the story would be Harry Potter. Even though he is young he is very strong. He plays a major roll in the story. There are several important characters mentioned so far throughout the story. Dumbledoor, Dudley Dursley (which is Harry's first cousin), James Potter, and Lily Evans are significant characters in this book as well. Two other main characters are Petunia Dursley and Vernon Dursley. These two are Harry's wealthy aunt and uncle. He lives with them for ten horrible years.

8) What is Censorship? Citation

Censorship is when books, music, movies, etc gets banned becuase of things that could be offensive to it's readers. If a book or music is questioned it can be censored. These type of items can be banned from young readers and in schools. For example, my book Harry Potter has been banned. Books like these are ones that are usually marked censored.

7. What is the 1st Amendment?

     The first amendment states that you have the freedom of speech, and also the right to assemble peacefully. Having the right to assemble peacefully means that you are allowed to come together to do one thing without getting into trouble for it. For example, worshiping. A church could come together and freely worship without being made to hide or worship without anyone knowing. Freedom of speech means that you are able to say what is on your mind (to a certain extent) without getting into trouble for saying it.
